1. Who you're agreeing with
By subscribing to YourFoodAPI on RapidAPI and using the API, you are entering into an agreement with Wojciech Skrzek, trading as WebMoose, a Polish sole proprietor (NIP 646-292-67-00, registered at ul. Zapolskiej 22/12, 43-100 Tychy, Poland) — referred to below as "YourFoodAPI", "we", or "us".
The agreement covers your access to and use of the YourFoodAPI service: the API endpoints, the underlying dataset, the documentation, and the marketing website at yourfoodapi.com.
2. Billing happens on RapidAPI
Subscriptions, plan limits, payment, taxes, and account management are handled by RapidAPI (operated by Nordic APIs Inc.). When you subscribe, you accept RapidAPI's Terms in addition to these. We are not party to the payment relationship between you and RapidAPI.
3. The dataset and what you can do with it
YourFoodAPI gives you queryable access to a curated dataset of ingredients (with nutrition values) and recipes (with instructions and per-serving macros).
You may:
- Use the data inside your own application or internal business workflows
- Cache responses locally for the duration permitted by your plan
- Display nutrition values, ingredient lists, and recipes to your end users
- Reference YourFoodAPI as your data source in product documentation (attribution is appreciated but not required)
You may not:
- Redistribute the raw dataset (the ingredient or recipe database) as a standalone product, downloadable file, or competing service
- Republish the data on another API marketplace
- Reverse-engineer the API to bypass plan limits or the security gateway
- Use the data for medical, therapeutic, or clinical dietary advice without independent professional review
- Use the API for any unlawful purpose or in violation of third-party rights
- Share your RapidAPI key or use a single subscription across multiple unrelated applications without an enterprise arrangement
4. Plan limits and fair use
Each subscription tier includes a monthly request quota and a per-second rate limit. Sustained bursts above your limit, automated scraping that pulls the entire dataset within a short window, or any usage that we reasonably believe is intended to evade per-plan limits may be throttled, temporarily blocked, or — in clear cases of abuse — terminated.
If you need higher volume than the published tiers, contact api@yourfoodapi.com and we'll discuss a custom plan.
5. Service availability
We aim for high availability and currently report 100% uptime as measured by RapidAPI. There is no formal SLA on the BASIC free tier. We provide best-effort response within 24 hours on PRO and ULTRA, and dedicated email support on MEGA. Custom SLAs are available on request.
Scheduled maintenance and dataset updates may temporarily affect response times; we'll keep these to a minimum.
6. Accuracy and the "as is" clause
Nutrition data is collected and entered manually by a certified dietitian and verified against professional reference sources. We work to keep it accurate but the data is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
YourFoodAPI is not a medical device, not a clinical reference, and not a substitute for professional dietary advice. If your application provides medical, therapeutic, or clinical dietary recommendations, you are responsible for independent professional review of the data your application surfaces.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, YourFoodAPI's total liability arising out of or related to your use of the service is limited to the amounts you have paid for your subscription in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Polish or EU consumer protection law.
8. Changes to the service
We may add, modify, or retire endpoints, response fields, or data entries to improve the service. We will avoid breaking changes within a published API version where reasonably possible, and provide reasonable notice of breaking changes via the changelog and the email associated with your RapidAPI account.
9. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your RapidAPI account. Upon cancellation, your access to the API ends at the close of the current billing period and any cached data already retrieved remains subject to Section 3 above.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you materially breach these Terms (most often: unauthorized redistribution, evasion of plan limits, or unlawful use).
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland and the European Union, excluding conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation will be brought before the Polish courts competent for the registered address of YourFoodAPI.
Where you are a consumer (rather than a business), nothing in this section deprives you of the protections of mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms, custom plans, partnership opportunities, or formal SLA arrangements: api@yourfoodapi.com.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, or business practices. Material changes will be announced on the landing page and via the email associated with your RapidAPI subscription. Continued use of the API after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
